GREENSBORO, NC (March 10,2026) - The Greensboro Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team - in partnership with the SBI's Criminal Apprehension Team - located Timothy Benton in the 5300 block of Cedar Green Drive in Walkertown on March 9 and attempted to serve outstanding warrants.
Benton, 22, refused to exit the residence voluntarily, at which point the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department activated their SWAT team and Negotiations team. After an extended timeframe, the Forsyth County Sherriff's Office SWAT team entered the residence and extracted Benton.
Benton was then transferred to the custody of GPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and served with the following warrants:
These charges stem from a multitude of open criminal investigations. Copies of warrants are publicly available online via Guilford County eCourts.
"This operation reflects the continued collaboration between local and state law enforcement agencies to safely apprehend individuals with outstanding warrants while prioritizing the safety of the public and officers involved," said Lt. Cassandra Dark, of the Greensboro Police Department.
