Gender and labour market transitions in a structurally changing economy: empirical evidence from Ghana

Abstract

This study examines Ghana's evolving economy through the lens of labour transitions, focusing on the movement of labour between household and market sectors, with gender implications. It reveals limited shifts from unpaid housework to income-earning sectors and demonstrates the enduring gendered division of labour.

This is an part of the Structural Transformation and Economic Growth (STEG) programme.
