DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. - Novant Health is expanding access to specialized women's healthcare with the opening of Novant Health Menopause Care & Sexual Wellness Center on Daniel Island.
The new center opened July 15 and is designed to help women navigate the physical, emotional and sexual health changes that can occur during perimenopause, menopause and throughout every stage of life. Patients will receive personalized, evidence-based care in a supportive environment where concerns that often go undiscussed are addressed with expertise and compassion.
The clinic will be led by a team of renowned obstetrician-gynecologists including Dr. Maggie Evans, Dr. Christi Cook, and Dr. Molly Joseph. They are all extensively trained in menopause care and hold the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) Certified Practitioner credential, reflecting their advanced expertise and commitment to excellence.
Katherine Gibson, NP, is also joining Novant Health as part of the clinic's launch.
"Women need and deserve a place where they can openly discuss symptoms that may be affecting their health, relationships and quality of life without embarrassment or hesitation," Evans said. "Too often, concerns like painful intercourse, low libido, hot flashes or sleep disruption are dismissed as something women simply have to live with. Our Center is committed to listening, identifying the underlying causes and creating individualized treatment plans that help women feel like themselves again."
Services include:
Menopause and perimenopause evaluation and symptom management
Hormone therapy and non-hormonal treatment options
Sexual wellness care, including low libido and painful intercourse
Treatment for vaginal dryness and genitourinary syndrome of menopause
Pelvic floor health and urinary symptom management
Sleep, mood and cognitive health support
Nutrition, exercise and weight management counseling
Personalized education and long-term wellness planning
The clinic will collaborate with family physicians, internists, nurse practitioners and breast specialists to provide each patient with integrated, personalized menopausal care.
"Women's healthcare doesn't stop after pregnancy or routine gynecologic care," said Kirsten Royster, president of Novant Health's Charleston area. "As more women seek specialized support during menopause and other life transitions, we're proud to expand access to this important service in the Lowcountry. This clinic reflects Novant Health's commitment to providing remarkable care that improves quality of life for women at every age."
