CABEI and Banco Industrial boost Guatemalan MSMEs with US$35 million in financing

Guatemala City, September 1, 2025.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) approved a disbursement of US$35 million to Banco Industrial (BI) to provide working capital support for Guatemalan micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The goal is to facilitate access to financing under competitive conditions, driving their growth and long-term sustainability.

The funds will be intermediated by Banco Industrial, which will channel them through loans to entrepreneurs with up to 100 employees, as well as to individuals with productive initiatives seeking to strengthen their competitiveness. This financing will allow beneficiaries to energize their business activities, expand development, improve cash flow, and create new employment opportunities-contributing to the country's economic recovery.

Since 1998, Banco Industrial has maintained a global credit line with CABEI, which over the years has supported foreign trade, strategic productive sectors, and in particular, the MSME segment. This partnership has proven to have a sustained positive impact, consolidating itself as a driver of support for Guatemalan businesses throughout different stages of their growth.

This disbursement is part of CABEI's MSME Support Program, which seeks to channel resources through financial institutions with global credit lines to strengthen business development in the region. Among its main objectives, the program aims to increase MSME productivity and competitiveness, foster job creation, and promote innovation.

With this financial support, CABEI and Banco Industrial reaffirm their commitment to continue empowering the MSME sector as a key pillar for economic growth, productive inclusion, and the positive transformation of Guatemala.
