ICYMI: Ohio Lights Up the Holidays with Cozy Stays, Dazzling Displays & Festive Fun

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) This holiday season, Ohio is making it easier than ever to celebrate with loved ones - and support local communities - through three festive statewide initiatives from TourismOhio.

"The holidays are a time to open our homes to friends, family, and loved ones, creating moments that feel as magical as the season itself," said Lydia Mihalik, Director of the Ohio Department of Development. "Here in Ohio, it's all about celebrating those connections while supporting the local businesses, events, and organizations that make our communities shine."

Be the Host with the Most (Rooms)

Ohioans can skip the air mattress and treat visiting friends and family to a cozy stay at local hotels, inns, and vacation rentals. The "Host with the Most (Rooms)" campaign, running through February 17, 2026, offers exclusive resident rates and holiday packages at participating properties across the state.

2025 Ohio Holiday Lights Trail

Now featuring 79 sparkling stops, the Ohio Holiday Lights Trail stretches across every corner of the state - from walk-through gardens and historic homes to drive-through spectacles and zoo light shows. The full list and interactive trail map are both available online.

Holiday Events Guide

TourismOhio released the 2025 Ohio Holiday Events Guide, a curated collection of 440 holiday happenings - five in every county - that highlight the small traditions, big celebrations, and hometown magic that make the holidays meaningful across the state. The guide is organized by region and by date, so residents and visitors alike can always find something happening nearby.

Whether you're hosting out-of-town guests or planning a festive road trip, Ohio has everything you need to make the holidays magical. From cozy stays to twinkling lights and charming downtowns, it's all about creating joyful moments - close to home or on the road.
