Mountain View, CA - On Thursday, April 16, the Mountain View Police Department Gang Suppression Team, in partnership with allied agencies, conducted an operation in Mountain View. The operation focused on conducting supervised release compliance checks, warrant services, enforcement, and proactive patrols.
During the operation, a search was conducted in the 600 block of Mariposa Avenue. During the search, suspect Jose Cruz Mendez, a 20-year-old Mountain View resident, was found to be in possession of narcotics. Cruz was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on the charges of H&S 11350(a) and violating the terms of his probation.
An additional search was conducted in the 2000 block of San Ramon Avenue. Following this search, 34-year-old Mountain View Resident Juan Sandoval Lopez was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for possession of a controlled substance with prior drug-related convictions (HS 11395(b)(1)), possession of drug paraphernalia (11364(a)), possession of burglary tools (PC 466), possession of another person's identifying information with intent to commit fraud (PC 530.5(c)(2)), and for violating the terms of his parole (PC 3056).
