Secretary-General of ASEAN meets with the President of Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation

Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 19 August 2026, held a bilateral meeting with Dr. Silvia Maria Fonseca Silveira Massruhá, President of Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), in Brasília, on the margins of his Working Visit to Brazil. Both sides discussed ways to further strengthen ASEAN-Brazil cooperation in agricultural research, development, and innovation. Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing food security, accelerating digital transformation and the adoption of innovative technologies, promoting sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices, and strengthening the resilience of the agricultural sector to the adverse impacts of climate change.
