Haverstraw Man Sentenced To 16 Years In Prison For Enticing Multiple Minors To Engage In Sexual Activity

United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Jamie McDonald, announced today that OSCAR MATA LEMUS was sentenced to 16 years in prison by United States District Judge Cathy Seibel for his enticement of three minors to engage in sexual activity. Judge Seibel also imposed a 15-year term of supervised release to follow the prison term. The sentencing today followed MATA LEMUS's guilty plea on November 25, 2025.

"Oscar Mata Lemus's conduct is the nightmare of any parent," said U.S. Attorney Jamie McDonald. "Today's sentencing illustrates that we will continue to use every tool available to law enforcement to prosecute and punish those who sexually exploit children."

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in related court proceedings:

On or about April 20, 2024, Oscar Mata Lemus, who was 23 years old at the time, communicated online with a 14-year-old minor ("Victim-1"). Mata Lemus told her he was 16 years old and persuaded Victim-1 to meet him in person to engage in sexual activity. On or about April 23, 2024, Mata Lemus went to Victim-1's home in Rockland County, New York, entered her bedroom through a window, and engaged in sexual activity with her.

A federal investigation revealed that that, prior to his abuse of Victim-1, Mata Lemus abused at least two other minors. In or about January 2024, Mata Lemus met Victim-2, a 14-year-old, via social media. As with Victim-1, Mata Lemus told Victim-2 that he was 16 years old. Mata Lemus met Victim-2 in the Bronx on numerous occasions between January 2024 and April 2024, and they engaged in sexual activity. Mata Lemus took photos and videos of the sexual activity, some of which were recovered from his phone in connection with the investigation.

In addition, in or about June 2023, Mata Lemus met Victim-3, a 15-year-old in Mississippi, via social media. Mata Lemus told Victim-3 that he was 17 years old. At MATA LEMUS's direction, Victim-3 sent him sexually explicit images of herself. She also engaged in numerous live video sessions, during which Mata Lemus requested that Victim-3 engage in sexual acts for him on camera.

On November 25, 2025, Oscar Mata Lemus entered a guilty plea to an Information, charging him with three counts of enticement, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2422(b).
