Mexico is participating with a national pavilion and a delegation of federal officials, state governments, and private sector representatives at Hannover Messe 2026, the world's leading trade fair for industrial transformation.
Director General for Economic Diplomacy Farid Hannan delivered the opening remarks at the Mexico Pavilion, representing Foreign Secretary Roberto Velasco Álvarez.
Also participating were Francisco Quiroga, Mexico's Ambassador to Germany; Marco Del Prete, as president of the Mexican Association of Secretaries of Economic Development (AMSDE); and Bernd Herbeck, Director for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Tourism at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport and Construction of Lower Saxony.
Ambassador Quiroga pointed to the strong track record of more than 2,000 German companies which, together with their chambers of commerce and trade promotion bodies, attest to the tariff, labor, logistics, and energy advantages Mexico offers its trade partners. "We know that behind every investment there is a German who is betting on Mexico, putting their reputation and family life on the line when they move to our country."
The Mexico Pavilion brings together public and private stakeholders to promote Mexican products, identify investment opportunities, and strengthen the integration of domestic companies into global value chains. The Mexican delegation of around 65 people includes officials from Aguascalientes, Campeche, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Querétaro, and Yucatán, presenting their states' industrial capabilities in advanced manufacturing, automation, energy, and digitalization.
The Mexican Embassy in Germany will coordinate meetings throughout the rest of the week between the Mexican delegation and German companies to pursue investment opportunities, building on the bilateral cooperation established at the meeting between President Sheinbaum and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
