Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritis met today, Tuesday, 15 September, with the candidate for UN Secretary-General, Olara Otunnu.
The discussion focused on efforts to reform the United Nations, in the context of Greece's term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2025-2026, and ahead of Greece's upcoming Presidency of the Security Council in October 2026.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated Greece's steadfast commitment to respect for international law, including the principles enshrined in the UN Charter, as well as to international multilateralism.
