After a week of balmy 30-degree temps, we're heading toward another arctic chill this weekend! Stay indoors, since there is tons to do inside, including watching the Patriots and Seahawks face off in Sunday's Super Bowl (our complete guide on how to watch and celebrate will be published Friday). In the meantime, here's everything else you can do this weekend.
Come learn about 170 different study abroad programs available to BU students, get your questions answered by Global Programs staff and program managers working at BU's overseas sites, and pick the brains of former student participants.
Thursday, February 5, 10 am to 2 pm, Study Abroad office, 888 Commonwealth Ave., Boston.
Come watch the 2026 Winter Olympics on one of the largest TV screens in the city. Several Olympic events will be aired-ensuring you'll never miss a moment. There are also several food and drink specials inspired by the games.
Friday, February 6, 9 am to 5 pm, High Street Place, 100 High St., Boston.
To celebrate National Secondhand Clothing Week (February 1 to 9), Campus Closet is hosting a free and accessible clothing swap to extend the life cycle of our clothing. The organization aims to combat fast fashion, reduce waste, and provide BU students a place to donate or swap their clothes-and have access to free clothing if they need it. Please donate only clothing in good condition; no undergarments, shoes, bedding, towels, or accessories. Items can be dropped off at the donation bin in the CFA Student Lounge.
Friday, February 6, in the CFA Student Lounge (Room 102), 855 Commonwealth Ave., Room 102.
Get off the couch and stimulate your brain at this perfectly winter-proof activity. The I Heart Science festival is an all-ages, innovative, one-of-a-kind experience where you can participate in chats with experts in their fields, experiment with sound, and examine insect metamorphosis up close.
Saturday, February 7, 1 to 4 pm, Harvard Museum of Natural History, 26 Oxford St., Cambridge. Regular museum admission rates apply; non-Harvard students with student ID save $5 off the admission price.
Looking to try yoga with a twist? Visit FitRec before Super Bowl kickoff this weekend for Black Light Yoga. Participants are encouraged to wear white for the brightest glow, decorate their (provided) yoga mat with neon tape, and then unwind in a relaxing yoga class under black lights.
Sunday, February 8, FitRec Dance Theater, 915 Commonwealth Ave. Mat pickup and decorating is from 3 to 4 pm; the class is from 4 to 5 pm. Enter through the doors of FitRec. Preregistration is required; register here.
