On September 26, 2025, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi attended and delivered a speech at the reception hosted by the Embassy of Cuba in China to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba.

Qiu Xiaoqi stated that over the 65 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the special friendship between China and Cuba has continued to deepen and develop, becoming a model of solidarity and cooperation among socialist countries and of sincerity and mutual assistance among developing nations. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Cuba relations have continuously taken on a new look and demonstrated new achievements. Recently, President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez came to China to attend the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The two heads of state held a meeting and charted the course for building a China-Cuba community with a shared future in the next phase. China is ready to work with Cuba to promote exchanges at all levels, deepen all-round strategic cooperation, strengthen exchanges of experience in party and state governance, and continuously achieve new accomplishments in building a China-Cuba community with a shared future.

Cuban Ambassador to China Alberto Blanco Silva stated that the friendship between Cuba and China has stood the test of time, with bilateral relations becoming increasingly mature. The political mutual trust has deepened continuously, and the people of both countries have shared weal and woe. Recently, the two heads of state met once again, mapping out a blueprint for the development of Cuba-China relations. Cuba firmly supports the series of global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, including the Global Governance Initiative. Cuba is willing to work with China to implement the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state, firmly support each other on issues related to each other's core interests and major concerns, continuously deepen cooperation in various fields, constantly enrich the Cuba-China community with a shared future, and make new and greater contributions to the cause of world progress.
