Palm Beach County's Department of Housing & Economic Development, through the Office of Small Business Development (OSBD), is partnering with Palm Beach County Commissioner Bobby Powell Jr., District 7 and Black Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County to host a two-part Small Business Vendor Registration and Certification Workshop Series designed to help local businesses become contract-ready. The sessions help participants, get registered, get certified, get contract ready.

The workshops will take place on August 12 and August 19, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Urban League of Palm Beach County, located at 1700 N. Australian Avenue in West Palm Beach. With support from the County's Procurement Department, small businesses attending the first session will complete the process to become registered Palm Beach County vendors. During the second session, OSBD staff will be on hand to guide participants through the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) certification process, ensuring they understand requirements and can complete applications onsite.

As certified vendors, businesses gain access to specific benefits, including eligibility for set-aside contracting opportunities and targeted technical assistance that strengthens their ability to compete for County projects.

Commissioner Bobby Powell Jr. emphasized the importance of supporting local entrepreneurs, "Small businesses drive innovation, create jobs, and strengthen our communities. These workshops are about opening doors and making sure our local businesses have every opportunity to succeed."
