Advancing student success: UC Law names Margolis to dual leadership and faculty role

The University of Cincinnati College of Law announces that Dyann Margolis has been appointed Associate Dean for Academic Success and has also joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Practice.

In her role as Associate Dean, Margolis will continue to lead the College's efforts to equip students with the skills, strategies, and resources necessary to thrive academically and to succeed on the bar exam. She also designs and delivers programming, courses, workshops, and individualized coaching that support student achievement and long-term professional success. Additionally, she will continue to teach the Legal Ethics Skill and Application course and the Bar course, as well as teach other classes if needed as needed.

Dean Haider Ala Hamoudi praised Margolis's leadership, stating, "Dyann has done incredible work advancing our College's commitment to student success, our premier strategic priority. Her innovative approach-combining evidence-based strategies, individualized coaching, and collaborative programming-has transformed the way we prepare our students for success in the classroom, on the bar exam, and across their career. I am excited to welcome her to both our faculty and our leadership team in this new capacity."

A seasoned legal education professional, Margolis has directed the College of Law's academic success and bar preparation programs for the past three years. Her initiatives have included a focus on integrating doctrinal and skill instruction in courses like Legal Ethics Skill and Application and working with the faculty group developing a new 1L course, Client Centered Legal Practice. Alongside these curricular efforts, she has focused on creating a data driven comprehensive post-graduate bar programming.

Reflecting on her new appointment, Margolis said, "I am deeply honored to take on these new roles at the College of Law. My favorite part of my job is getting to work with students and see their successes. In this new role, I hope to have greater impact in preparing our students for immediate success on the bar exam and in their careers. I look forward to continuing to expand our academic success initiatives and to collaborating with my colleagues as we prepare our students to make a meaningful impact in the legal profession."

Margolis's appointment underscores the College of Law's continued commitment to advancing student success and preparing graduates to excel in the legal profession.
