LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Colorado Christian University (CCU) has appointed Chris Haller as Executive Director of Student Careers and Employment Placement Services, a strategic leadership role focused on connecting academic programs with career outcomes and ensuring students graduate exceptionally employable.
The Student Careers and Employment Placement Services initiative is designed to equip students with the tools, experiences, and professional competencies necessary to secure meaningful employment before graduation while supporting persistence, retention, and wise financial decision-making. Through paid internship pipelines, scholarship partnerships, and career coaching embedded across the student lifecycle, Student Careers and Employment Placement Services will directly address the concerns many families have with the financial burden of higher education - helping CCU graduates enter the workforce with less debt and greater earning power.
The initiative reflects CCU's commitment to preparing graduates who are both spiritually grounded and professionally prepared.
"Chris brings a rare combination of business acumen, leadership development expertise, and a proven ability to build meaningful partnerships that directly benefit students," said Eric Hogue, President of Colorado Christian University. "Our commitment through Student Careers and Employment Placement Services is to ensure that every student graduates with both spiritual formation and the professional competencies that deliver our graduates into leadership positions in today's marketplace. Chris's leadership will strengthen our connections with employers across the country and ensure that CCU students are equipped not only with a Christ-centered education, but with clear pathways into impactful careers."
Haller brings a distinctive blend of corporate leadership, higher education experience, and a proven track record of building employer partnerships that drive student outcomes. Most recently, he served as Director of the Center for Principle-Based Leadership and Ethics at the University of Wyoming, where he led initiatives in ethical leadership, executive education, and student development.
He previously founded and led the Center for Professional Selling at Wyoming, establishing corporate partnerships and experiential learning opportunities that connected students directly with industry. Prior to his work in higher education, Haller served as Vice President for the Wyoming Division of Crest Insurance Group, leading a multi-location team and overseeing a full-service portfolio. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles in Wyoming Athletics, managing corporate sponsorships and supporting major capital initiatives.
In this new role at CCU, Haller will provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight to develop and implement programs that integrate student instruction with experiential opportunities, expand employer partnerships, and embed career readiness across the student lifecycle-from first-year exploration through post-graduate placement. His work will serve students in both the College of Undergraduate Studies and the College of Adult and Graduate Studies through mentorship programs, internships, recruiting pipelines, and career development resources.
"This is an important step in advancing the University's commitment to integrating academic rigor with vocational formation," said Dr. David Corbin, Provost of Colorado Christian University. "Chris' experience developing industry partnerships will strengthen our ability to align curriculum with workforce demands while preserving the integrity of a Christ-centered liberal arts education. This work is essential to ensuring that CCU graduates in both colleges are prepared to contribute meaningfully within their professions and to lead with competence, character, and conviction."
Through this initiative, CCU will further advance its core commitments to faith integration, calling-centered career development, servant leadership, and exceptional employability, ensuring that the values cultivated in the classroom translate directly into impact in the workplace.
"I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to join CCU and to serve its students in such a meaningful way," said Haller. "CCU's mission to develop graduates who lead with grace and truth resonates strongly with me, and I'm excited to help build pathways that connect students to impactful careers. It's a privilege to come alongside faculty, staff, and industry partners to ensure students are equipped not only for their first job, but for a lifetime of purpose-driven work."
Haller holds an MBA from the University of Wyoming and a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from the University of Kansas, with minors in business and psychology.
