Minister Pemmy Majodina leads Council of Ministers Meeting of INMACOM, 5 Jun

The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Pemmy Majodina, will host her counterparts, HRH Prince Lonkhokela Dlamini, Minister for Natural Resources and Energy of the Kingdom of Eswatini, and Fernando Rafael, Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources of the Republic of Mozambique, at the inaugural Council of Ministers Meeting of the Incomati and Maputo Watercourse Commission (INMACOM) on Friday, 05 June 2026, at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg, Gauteng.

The historic meeting will mark a significant milestone in regional cooperation on the management of the shared Incomati and Maputo river systems. It reflects the commitment of South Africa, Eswatini and Mozambique to strengthen cooperation, deepen partnerships and advance the sustainable management of shared water resources.

Ministers will deliberate on strategic issues critical to regional water security, including water availability, infrastructure development, data and information sharing, climate resilience and environmental sustainability. The discussions are expected to strengthen institutional cooperation and support long-term water security and socio-economic development across the region.

INMACOM serves as a platform for South Africa, Eswatini and Mozambique to jointly manage and protect their shared water resources, ensuring their equitable and sustainable use for the benefit of present and future generations.
