SANTA MONICA, Calif. (May 6, 2026) - The city of Santa Monica's Housing and Human Services, or HHS, Department will soon invite qualified agencies to apply for Human Services Grants Program funding for the FY2027-31 grants cycle.
HHS contributes approximately $10 million annually to public and non-profit organizations through the Human Services Grants Program, or HSGP, to improve the quality of life of vulnerable and low-income residents.
In fall 2026, the city will release a Request for Proposals, or RFP, inviting organizations to apply. Prior to that, the department, in partnership with the Human Services Commission, is inviting the public to weigh in on the draft RFP.
Members of the public are invited to attend a special meeting of the Human Services Commission on Tuesday, May 19, from 6-7:30 p.m. to provide input on various aspects of the RFP, including proposed program expectations, funding, eligibility criteria, and programmatic goals. The meeting will take place at the Civic Center Parking Structure SMI Training Room (330 Olympic Dr., second floor plaza level).
The meeting agenda packet will be available on the Human Services Commission website at least 72 hours prior to the meeting. Please email [email protected] by May 12 if you need accommodations.
