The second of four city of Aurora required employee furlough days for 2026 will take place on Friday, April 10. On furlough days, most city facilities and operations are closed, with essential services and emergency operations remaining fully operational.
Furloughs are part of the city's cost-saving measures to balance the budget in accordance with the city charter. They help Aurora responsibly manage public resources while continuing to provide high-quality services that support the community and align with the city's Well Managed strategic outcome.
