Nighttime Closure of Delaware Avenue between Orchard Road and South Chapel Street
Newark - ; The Delaware Department of Transportation announces a full closure of Delaware Avenue between Orchard Road and South Chapel Street nightly from Sunday, August 2, 2026, through Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM. The closure is necessary for warm mix asphalt and Portland cement concrete (PCC) patching.
Detour - Eastbound Motorists from S. Main St. will turn right onto W. Park Pl., then turn left onto S. College Ave, and arrive back at E. Delaware Ave.
Eastbound Motorists from W Main St Will Continue onto S Main St, Then Turn Left onto Apple Rd, Then Turn Left onto W Park Pl, Then Turn Left onto S College Ave, And Arrive Back at E Delaware Ave.
Eastbound Motorists Will Turn Right onto Academy St, Then Turn Left onto E Park Pl, Then Turn Left onto S Chapel St, And Arrive Back at E Delaware Ave.
