Congresswoman April McClain Delaney Statement on Her Present Vote on the Main Street Capital Access Act

Washington D.C. - Today, Congresswoman April McClain Delaney released the following statement after voting present on the Main Street Capital Access Act:

"Out of an abundance of caution, I voted "present" last night on the Main Street Capital Access Act in order to recuse myself given a personal conflict of interest. At a time when the Trump Administration has repeatedly blurred ethical lines and eroded public trust, Members of Congress have a responsibility to hold themselves to a higher standard. I entered public service to serve my constituents and not for self-gain. I remain ever committed to expanding access to capital - particularly in our rural areas to benefit our farmers and small businesses - through the support of our local community banks and to create more opportunity, protections and economic development for the working families of Maryland."
