17th Annual Elgin Short Film Festival Set for Sept. 20 at the Hemmens

Experience an unforgettable night of cinema at the 17th annual Elgin Short Film Festival (ESFF) on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way. Showcasing outstanding short films from emerging filmmakers across the United States and around the world, the ESFF celebrates creativity, storytelling and the art of film in an intimate, vibrant setting.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a red carpet reception featuring filmmakers arriving in classic cars, photo opportunities and pre-show entertainment.

At 7 p.m., audiences will enjoy screenings of the Top Five Films - each 20 minutes or less.

A panel of celebrity judges will select the winners, but audience participation is vital. Attendees can vote for their favorite film to help determine the festival's top honors. Awards will be presented by master of ceremonies Daryl Nitz.

Tickets for the event are available online or at the door.
