Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing Delivers a Speech at The HONOR AI + Design Summit 2025

On November 27, The HONOR AI + Design Summit 2025 has taken place in Kuala Lumpur. Present were H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing, Special Advisor to Malaysia's Minister of Higher Education Datuk Ahmad Shalimin Ahmad Shaffie, Malaysia National AI Office (NAIO) Chief Executive Officer Shamsul Izhan Abdul Majid, Honor Device Co., Ltd. Senior Vice-President Xu Zhiyu, along with representatives from Malaysia's government, higher learning institutes, and related industries, among over 200 guests.

In his speech, Ambassador Ouyang said that the Proposals for formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan identifies "accelerating high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-strengthening, and leading the development of new quality productive forces" as a priority task, for which a series of major initiatives for AI development has been put forward. In the field of AI, China will work with Malaysia and Asia-Pacific countries to further deepen bilateral and regional cooperation, working together to build a smarter, more prosperous, and better future.

Datuk Ahmad Shalimin expressed that Malaysia looks forward to deepening cooperation with HONOR and other companies, and that the country, being an open economy, welcomes partners from Asia-Pacific countries to jointly advance the premiumisation and internationalisation of the local AI industry.
