(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) today announced that Noah Toly will join the association as Senior Fellow for Faith & Learning, effective July 1, 2026. In this role, Toly will partner with CCCU leadership and member institutions to advance the integration of Christian faith and academic life and contribute to a range of CCCU initiatives.
Toly brings a distinguished record of institutional stewardship and thought leadership in Christian higher education. Since 2021, he has served as Provost at Calvin University, where he provided strategic leadership for academic innovation, faculty development, and mission-centered teaching and scholarship. Formed as a faculty scholar and teacher before serving in senior leadership, Toly has consistently worked at the intersection of Christian faith, intellectual life, and public engagement.
Before his time at Calvin, Toly served on the faculty of Wheaton College, where he was Professor of Urban Studies and Politics & International Relations and Executive Director of the Center for Urban Engagement. His teaching and scholarship explored questions of public life, ethics, and policy in conversation with Christian theology, reflecting a long-standing commitment to the integration of faith and learning.
Toly has actively engaged with the CCCU by speaking at conferences, hosting Leadership Development Institute participants at Calvin, and serving on the Council's Chief Academic Officers' Commission. In his role with the CCCU, Toly will collaborate closely with CCCU President David Hoag and Director of Faith Integration and Program Evaluation John Addleman to develop and advance the CCCU's Faith and Learning Initiative. His work will include supporting institutional leaders and faculty across member campuses, contributing to research and publications, and helping strengthen institutional cultures that faithfully integrate Christian conviction with intellectual excellence across diverse institutional contexts.
"Noah Toly's commitment to the integration of Christian faith and academic excellence embodies the very heart of the CCCU's mission. His leadership and scholarship have inspired colleagues across Christian higher education, and I am confident that his partnership will strengthen our collective pursuit of faithful learning and transformative impact. We are honored to welcome Noah as Senior Fellow, and I look forward to collaborating with him to advance the mission and witness of our member institutions."
"I have immense respect for the leadership the CCCU provides to higher education and for the work of its member institutions," said Toly. "I am honored to join that work in this role. Integrating faith and learning is essential to Christian higher education, and I look forward to partnering with David, other CCCU team members, and colleagues across the network to support institutional mission and faithful witness in the academy."
