The Nuclear Accident Central Emergency Operation Center stated that, in response to concerns from neighboring countries such as South Korea and the Philippines as well as overseas media regarding the potential cross-border radioactive contamination risks caused by the Kuosheng NPP accident, the Central EOC has continued to compile accident response, environmental radiation monitoring, and meteorological data, and will regularly explain the latest situation to the public.
Currently, the Central EOC is continuously monitoring environmental radiation data in the Kuosheng NPP plant area, surrounding regions, and related environments, and is conducting impact assessments based on accident developments, wind directions, and meteorological conditions. If there are significant changes in the monitoring and assessment results, updates will be provided immediately to both domestic and international audiences to ensure information is open and transparent.
The Central EOC has, in accordance with existing international communication and notification mechanisms, provided necessary information to relevant countries and units and continues to maintain contact. Subsequent updates in both Chinese and English will be provided in a timely manner depending on the progress of the accident response and monitoring results to address concerns from neighboring countries and the international community.
The government will release the latest news through the Disaster Prevention Cell Broadcast Service (CBS), television, radio, official websites, and social media. If you have any questions, you can call the 1999 citizen service hotline or the Nuclear Safety Commission at 02-8231-7919 for inquiries.
