Dow launches four functional ingredients to advance high-performance beauty formulations at in-cosmetics Asia 2026

New elastomer, oil-gelling and emollient technologies help formulators enhance sensory appeal, performance and formulation flexibility

Bangkok - Nov. 3, 2026 - Dow (NYSE: DOW) is introducing four new personal care ingredients and four formulation concept collections at in-cosmetics Asia 2026 to help formulators balance performance, sensory appeal and formulation flexibility across skin care, sun care, color cosmetics and hair care. The event takes place Nov. 3-5 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).

The launches bring together elastomer, oil-gelling and emollient technologies, with capabilities ranging from mattifying and soft-focus effects to oil-phase structuring, conditioning and spreadability.

Four new personal care ingredients
Dow is showcasing the following product launches:

• DOWSIL™ EL-9400 Hybrid Elastomer Blend brings together rich, smooth textures with mattifying and soft-focus benefits in a bio-based, readily biodegradable carrier. It contains 97% bio-based carbon and showcases a natural-origin index of 0.86 under ISO 16128.
• DOWSIL™ 8190 Oil Gellant expands formulation possibilities by structuring both silicone and organic oil phases into soft or firm gels. This versatile technology supports applications ranging from lip gloss, eyeliner, and foundation to hair care products.
• EcoSmooth™ Universal Fluid 2000 combines broad formulation flexibility with a smooth, slippery, and non-tacky feel, giving formulators a readily biodegradable emollient for a wide range of personal care applications.
• EcoSmooth™ Universal Fluid 3000 provides conditioning and lubricity with a non-tacky feel, offering formulators a readily biodegradable emollient designed to enhance the overall sensory experience. In AP/DEO, it assists with the spreadability of antiperspirant actives while reducing the white residue.

Concepts turn ingredient science into consumer experiences
Four formulation concept collections translate emerging consumer trends into tangible beauty experiences:

• La Cuisine de la Beauté: Taps into demand for playful, sensorial beauty with food-inspired skin, sun and hair care formats that elevate texture from a feature to an experience.
• PreciseCare: Responds to the growing interest in personalized hair care routines with targeted conditioning for damaged hair ends, helping restore smoothness and healthy-looking shine.
• Scalp Care Essentials: Reflects the scalp-first shift in hair care with a routine designed to cleanse, soothe, rebalance and protect.
• SulFree Care: Addresses the demand for gentler cleansing with shampoo experiences offering rich foam, strong conditioning and appealing textures, using fewer surfactants and featuring bio-based polymers.

Technical seminar explores greater oil-gelling flexibility
Dow's technical seminar, "Discover DOWSIL™ 8190 Oil Gellant: One Gellant for Silicone + Organic Oil Compatibility - More Formulation Freedom," will show how the ingredient can structure silicone and organic oil phases to expand sensory and formulation possibilities across color cosmetics and hair care. Pornpan Singhapantu, Associate TS&D Scientist at Dow, will present the session from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Technical Seminar Theatre 2, booth A50.
