COEUR d'ALENE -The Idaho Transportation Department and Coeur d'Alene Police Department are working together as the community prepares to welcome Raising Cane's for their grand opening Tuesday at the corner of U.S. Highway 95 and Neider Avenue.
Both agencies have been coordinating ahead of the opening on plans to help keep traffic moving smoothly along this busy stretch of US-95. Raising Cane's is one of the most anticipated restaurant arrivals our area has seen in quite some time with a devoted fanbase that tends to show up in a big way for new locations.
"We're not sure exactly what to expect, but we'd rather plan for the worst and hope for the best. That way, no matter how the week unfolds, we're ready," Sergeant Jared Renau said.
Both agencies will be monitoring traffic to ensure that any lines do not back up onto US-95. If necessary, temporary traffic control will be set up to so that drivers may only turn right in to or right out of the Raising Cane's parking lot from Neider Avenue with no left turns allowed.
Whether you're heading to Cane's next week or just passing through, both agencies are working together to ensure drivers have a safe and stress-free experience.
Here are a few reminders for Coeur d'Alene drivers next week:
ITD and CDA PD officers will be keeping an eye on conditions and will be ready to respond as needed.
