The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a bilateral meeting today with the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in the margins of the Middle East Peace Plan signing ceremony.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the next steps in implementing the peace plan, and President Meloni reaffirmed Italy's commitment to contributing to the stabilisation, reconstruction and development of the Gaza Strip and to the relaunch of a political process towards a framework of peace, security and stability in the Middle East based on the two-state solution.

The conversation also provided an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and, in particular, the implementation of Mattei Plan projects in the sectors of education and training, energy and sustainable agriculture.
