Grassley Welcomes Over $18.2 Million in Federal Funding to Support Iowa Communities
BUTLER COUNTY, IOWA - U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) welcomed news from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that Iowa will receive over $18.2 million in federal funding to benefit Iowans across the state. This funding will impact Iowans in Linn, Polk, Cherokee, Lyon, Woodbury, Buena Vista, Sioux and Pottawattamie counties.
"Iowans have worked tirelessly to repair and rebuild after terrible storms struck our state," Grassley said. "It's encouraging to see these federal dollars coming to support the Hawkeye State as Iowans continue to be resilient. In the Senate, I'll keep working to ensure Iowans get the support they need."
Details on the FEMA awards follow:

Cornell College: $10,146,128.22 to fund permanent repairs to the historic 1882 chapel following severe storms.

Polk County Conservation Board: $363,356.10 to fund culvert, inlet and outlet repair or replacement as a result of severe storms, tornadoes and flooding.

City of Cherokee: $260,714.91 to fund building exterior, building interior and other repairs or replacement as a result of severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds and tornadoes.

City of Rock Rapids: $527,625 to fund debris removal operations as a result of severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds and tornadoes.

City of Correctionville: $251,250 to fund debris removal operations as a result of severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds and tornadoes.

Lyon County Secondary Roads: $1,178,580.75 to fund permanent repairs, including bridge replacement, as a result of severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds and tornadoes.

Buena Vista County Conservation Board: $1,314,688.50 to fund permanent repairs, including to the Linn Grove Dam, as a result of severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds and tornadoes.

City of Rock Valley: $3,826,987.31 to fund permanent repairs, including to the city maintenance and storage buildings, as a result of severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds and tornadoes.

City of Minden: $138,479.51 to fund Public Assistance (PA) grants as a result of severe storms and tornadoes.

Honey Creek Drainage District #6: $106,374.18 to fund PA grants as a result of severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds and tornadoes.

City of Sioux City: $145,199.40 to fund PA grants as a result of severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds and tornadoes.
