LOCAL NEWS | WJE Named LC3 Technical Resource Centre in North America

WJE is pleased to announce its partnership with the LC3-Project as their Technical Resource Centre (TRC) in North America.

Initiated by research in 2005, the LC3-Project was formally established in 2014 with the goal of developing LC3, through research and testing, into a standard, mainstream general-use cement for the global cement market.

LC3 is a blended cement composed of calcined clay, limestone, portland cement clinker, and gypsum. It can significantly reduce CO2 emissions, particularly when compared to traditional portland cement products, while incorporating clays that are readily available.

To date, the LC3-Project developers' group has established TRCs in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Now, WJE will serve as their TRC in North America. Each TRC provides engineering consulting and testing services to industry clients focused on the development and application of LC3 Additionally, TRCs participate in professional industry events to share knowledge and connect with professionals to discuss technological and market developments for LC3.

WJE will host an "LC3 Day at WJE" at our Northbrook headquarters on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Attendance is limited.
