Available today: GPT-5.5 Instant in Microsoft 365 Copilot

Today, we're excited to announce the addition of OpenAI's GPT-5.5 Instant to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Copilot Studio. Building on GPT-5.3 Instant, GPT-5.5 Instant improves the quality of everyday work tasks designed to deliver more accurate and concise responses, with improved performance on image analysis and STEM-related tasks.

With GPT-5.5 Instant, Microsoft 365 Copilot can provide clearer responses for everyday work, helping you get to a useful answer more quickly in many everyday workflows, with less back-and-forth. It improves how Copilot handles common work questions, image uploads, and STEM-related tasks, while reducing verbosity and unnecessary follow-up questions. Together, these improvements make Copilot responses easier to use right away across the flow of work.

We are committed to bringing you the latest AI innovation and model choice tuned for work and tailored to your business needs-built on Microsoft's enterprise-grade security, compliance, and privacy commitments. Microsoft 365 Copilot licensed users will receive priority access to GPT-5.5 Instant, while users without a Microsoft 365 Copilot license will have standard access. GPT-5.5 Instant begins rolling out today to Copilot Chat experiences for quick responses, available to Microsoft 365 Copilot users with priority access and to Copilot Chat users with standard access. In Copilot Chat, GPT-5.5 Instant appears as GPT-5.5 Quick response in the model selector under GPT.

For agent makers, GPT-5.5 Instant is rolling out in Copilot Studio in early release cycle environments as GPT-5.5 Chat, and is also available in Microsoft Foundry for developers building AI solutions.

Our team will continue to refine the experience based on your feedback as we build the future of work together. Learn more about GPT-5.5 Instant from OpenAI here.
