Red Flag Warning Issued for Thursday and Friday

The National Weather Service has issues a Red Flag Warning for LA County from October 15 - October 16, due to the strong Santa Ana winds and low humidity.

What does this mean?

The combination of low humidity, dry conditions, and high winds will create a high risk of fires that can spread rapidly. Winds are expected to gear up and peak on Thursday and gradually go down over the weekend. However, fire conditions could persist in windier areas during the weekend.

How Can Residents Prepare?

Residents are encouraged to...

-> Stay informed - monitor weather updated from NOAA, City and Pomona PD socials, and local/county public safety announcement.

-> Steer clear of activities that could start a fire - be careful and properly store tools, vehicles, and equipment that could be a potential ignition source.

-> Protect your property - remove dry leaves, weeds, and debris from around your home.
