As part of Latinx Heritage Month, the UMass community is invited to "Conexiones y Comunidad," a social networking mixer for students, faculty and staff to come together and celebrate the Latinx community, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9 in the Commonwealth Honors College Event Hall.
Presented by the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences and SBS RISE - Remedying Inequity through Student Engagement - in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the event is a chance to meet new people, connect with supportive mentors and build relationships that can enrich both your academic and personal journey. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in guided conversations and icebreakers designed to spark meaningful dialogue about identity, culture and campus life, all in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
For those looking to expand their network, share experiences or simply enjoy good company, "Conexiones" is the perfect space to celebrate the Latinx culture and strengthen and support the Latinx campus community.
Food - including pupusas, taquitos, platanos, arroz con gandules, pernil, and more - beverages and celebratory music will be available.
All are welcome to attend, though registration for the event is requested.
