WASHINGTON- Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08) released the following statement on the government funding package passing the U.S. House of Representatives.
"High costs are crushing families in my community, and Republicans are forcing a health care affordability crisis on working people. Because they cut $1 trillion from Medicaid and are gutting the ACA, insurance premiums are spiraling out of control and people can't get basic care.
"We urgently need a bipartisan budget that addresses the real needs of the people I represent. This bill fails. I voted no because we need concrete solutions to deliver affordable health care, not empty promises."
Earlier today, Congresswoman McDonald Rivet spoke on the steps of the U.S. Capitolat a press conference about what is at stake for mid-Michigan families.
