Wilmington, DE - Delaware welcomed a new chapter in its maritime and tourism story this week as Scenic Eclipse, made a special visit to the Port of Wilmington during its voyage.
Approximately 200 passengers disembarked in Wilmington, where representatives of the State of Delaware and Enstructure welcomed them. During their visit, passengers had the opportunity to experience Delaware and the surrounding region.
Delaware Secretary of State Charuni Patibanda-Sanchez, Eryn Dinyovsky, Executive Vice President, US Mid-Atlantic at Enstructure, and other representatives welcomed the ship's captain, crew, and passengers as they arrived in Wilmington. As they disembarked, passengers received a limited-edition challenge coin commemorating Delaware's 250th anniversary.
"The arrival of the Scenic Eclipse marks an exciting milestone for the Port of Wilmington and opens the door to new opportunities for tourism and economic growth in Delaware," said Governor Matt Meyer. "Our port is a vital economic engine that connects Delaware to the world, supports good-paying jobs and drives investment in our state. This visit is another example of its potential, and we're excited to welcome more visitors to experience everything the First State has to offer."
"Hosting a ship of this size and welcoming its passengers and crew to Delaware is proof that our Port is an essential component to all aspects of our state's economy," said Secretary of State Charuni Patibanda-Sanchez. "We are proud to have the opportunity to showcase Delaware's history, sites, and hospitality to visitors from across the country and world."

Following their arrival, passengers boarded tour buses for excursions throughout Delaware and the Philadelphia region. Destinations include the Nemours Estate, Longwood Gardens, Historic Philadelphia and other local attractions, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the First State and surrounding area. The visit concluded with an evening gala at Hotel Du Pont.
The visit provides the Port of Wilmington with a new opportunity to showcase Delaware as a tourism destination, highlighting the state's historic sites and hospitality. For passengers, it offers a chance to experience Delaware firsthand and discover what makes Delaware a unique stop along their journey.
