USDA Rural Development Announces Nearly $8M in Housing Preservation Grant Funds for 106 Grantees Across 32 States

(Washington, D.C., October 21, 2026) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development announced the full obligation of Housing Preservation Grant (HPG) funds totaling $7,989,285 through 106 grants across 32 states to fund home repairs and housing rehabilitation for very-low- and low-income rural residents. The grants will repair an estimated 1,228 housing units across rural America, with grantees leveraging an additional $7,552,804 in partner funding.

"Under the leadership of President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Rollins, USDA Rural Development delivers investments that bring renewed prosperity and opportunity to rural America," said Rural Housing Service Administrator George Kelly.

USDA Rural Development administers this funding through the HPG program, which provides grants to qualified non-profit organizations that, in turn, assist very-low- and low-income homeowners with needed home repairs and help rehabilitate eligible rental properties in rural areas.
