The Nashville Dept. of Waste Services (NWS) has officially launched its new collection schedule today, Tuesday, February 3. While crews transition to these new trash and recycling routes, where conditions allow, NWS continues to provide 21 emergency trash drop-off sites and has waived fees at all Convenience Centers to assist residents following last week's winter storm.
New Collection Schedule
Today marks the first day of the city's transition to a 4-day (Tuesday-Friday) trash and recycling collection cycle.
Look-up tool and schedule calendar: Residents are urged to use the look-up tool and collection schedule calendar to confirm their new service day, as over 60% of households have a new date. Note: Under the new collection schedule, recycling weeks for residents may have changed.
Emergency Trash Drop-Off Sites
To support residents while the new schedule stabilizes, 21 emergency drop-off sites have been activated. These sites are free of charge and strictly for bagged household trash only. They will be in operation 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. through Saturday, February 7.
Convenience Centers: Fees Waived Through February 7
All four Metro Convenience Centers are open daily (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) with no charge for regularly accepted material disposal (including bagged household trash) through Saturday, February 7.
Fee Waiver: Fees remain waived for all residents at these locations through Saturday, February 7.
