City Manager Statement on Downtown Ballpark
For immediate release: Wednesday, April 22, 2026
Kansas City welcomes the announcement of a partnership between the Kansas City Royals and Hallmark to pursue a proposed downtown ballpark district at Crown Center.
This announcement marks an important next step in ongoing conversations about the future of baseball in Kansas City and the potential for continued investment in downtown.
The City will continue reviewing the proposal, engaging the community, and working with partners as discussions move forward.
