Governor Ron DeSantis Makes Five Judicial Appointments

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announces five judicial appointments.

Judge Katherine Miller, of Daytona Beach, to serve as Judge on the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court

Judge Miller has served as a County Court Judge for Volusia County since 2023. Previously, she worked as an Attorney for Wright & Casey P.A. She earned her bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University and her juris doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. Miller fills a judicial vacancy created by the enactment of Senate Bill 2508.

Frank Talbot, of St. Johns, to serve as Judge on the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court


Talbot has served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida since 2002. Previously, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Tenth Judicial Circuit. He earned his bachelor's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his juris doctor from Mercer University. Talbot fills a judicial vacancy created by the enactment of Senate Bill 2508.

Kenneth Johnson, of Elkton, to serve as Judge on the Putnam County Court

Johnson has served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit since 2009. Previously, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Second Judicial Circuit. He earned his bachelor's degree from Florida State University and his juris doctor from Stetson University. Johnson fills a judicial vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Morris.

Steven Wilson, of Vero Beach, to serve as Judge on the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court

Wilson has worked as an Associate Attorney for Rossway, Swan, Tierney, Barry, and Oliver since 2021. Previously, he served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit. He earned his bachelor's degree from Harding University and his juris doctor from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. Wilson fills the judicial vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Mirman.

Katherine Mish, of Fort Pierce, to serve as Judge on the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court

Mish has worked as an Attorney for Treasure Coast Legal since 2015. Previously, she worked as an Associate Attorney for Cleaveland & Cleaveland P.L. She earned her bachelor's degree from Florida State University and her juris doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. Mish fills the judicial vacancy created by the enactment of Senate Bill 2508.
