Monthly Power Trading Results July 2026

Amsterdam, Berlin, Bern, Brussels, London, Paris, Vienna. 5 August 2026.

  • A total volume of 89.8 TWh was traded on EPEX SPOT markets in July 2026 (July 2025: 72.3 TWh) with more than 24% year on year (YoY) growth.

EPEX Day-Ahead™

  • Power trading on the Day-Ahead markets on EPEX SPOT accounted for 64.0 TWh (July 2025: 52.8 TWh), reaching more than 21% YoY increase.
  • Day-Ahead market has reached a new record traded volume in Poland.

EPEX Intraday™

  • On the EPEX SPOT Intraday markets, a total volume of 25.8 TWh was traded (July 2025: 19.5 TWh), reaching an overall monthly record, with more than 32% YoY growth.
  • The Intraday auction market has reached a new record traded volume in Austria, Denmark and Poland; and in the continuous market in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

EPEX Origin™

  • In July 2026, a total of 181.2 GWh were traded in the biweekly auctions for Guarantees of Origin.

EPEX Capacity™

  • Since the beginning of 2026, a total of 0.2 GW were traded on the French Capacity Market.

EPEX SPOT successfully performed on behalf of RTE the first French Capacity Mechanism auction on PLEDGE, the new platform supporting this market. Moreover, the Exchange launched its new TBx Index suite, a dedicated benchmark designed to capture the maximum value achievable by battery and energy storage assets in the wholesale power market.

Please note that volumes are calculated by using the common industry standard in electricity and exchange business: For auction trading, the one-sided Market Clearing Volume is listed. For continuous trading, the aggregated sell & buy volume is divided by 2.
