ATLANTA - State Representative Robert Flournoy (D-Hampton) recently honored the Lovejoy High School Varsity Game Day Cheerleaders for winning the 2025 GHSA 5A Game Day State Cheerleading Championship by sponsoring House Resolution 1039, legislation that was recently adopted to commend the team for their achievement. Rep. Flournoy also hosted the team at the State Capitol where he recognized them from the House floor for their accomplishments.
"I am incredibly proud of the Lovejoy High School Varsity Game Day Cheerleaders for their remarkable season," said Rep. Flournoy. "Winning every regular-season competition, advancing 19 athletes to the state finals and capturing the 2025 GHSA 5A Game Day State Championship-the first-ever GHSA state cheerleading title for Clayton County Public Schools-is a testament to their hard work and dedication. I was honored to host them at the Capitol and recognize their hard work before the entire House of Representatives."
