DUBOIS, Pa. - The North Central PA LaunchBox powered by Penn State DuBois and its student-run venture, Print Worx, played a major role in Penn State's Global Impact Forum, held last week in Pittsburgh.
Students enrolled in ENTR 496: Independent Studies in Entrepreneurship, part of the entrepreneurship minor at Penn State DuBois, partnered with LaunchBox to produce all of the event's vinyl signage. Under the guidance of Johnny Williams, campus technician, the students designed, printed, and cut the vinyl pieces used throughout the summit.
Print Worx operates as a fully functioning student business that provides vinyl signage, direct-to-film (DTF) clothing, and custom embroidery. Students in ENTR 496 handle every aspect of operations-from marketing and ordering to production, invoicing, and delivery-gaining valuable hands-on experience managing a real-world enterprise.
"This project was a great example of how our students are combining classroom learning with practical application," said Brad Lashinsky, instructor of entrepreneurship and coordinator of the North Central PA LaunchBox. "The team was proud to see their work represented on a large stage and to contribute to an event that celebrates Penn State's global reach and local impact."
The Global Impact Forum brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, and community leaders from across the Commonwealth to discuss how Penn State's campuses and programs are driving progress in communities around the world.
From DuBois to Pittsburgh, Print Worx's work at the event highlights the creativity, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit growing in North Central Pennsylvania.
