The City of McKinney is proud to announce that its Parks and Recreation Department has been awarded national accreditation through the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). The recognition places McKinney among the top park systems in the country and reflects the city's ongoing investment in quality of life.
"Parks and open spaces are at the heart of McKinney's unique by nature character," said Parks and Recreation Director Amy Kinkade. "Accreditation means that McKinney residents can have confidence in the city's continued investment in quality of life."
McKinney's 3,000 acres of parkland, 100+ miles of trails, and growing network of recreation facilities show how the city has worked intentionally to ensure that every neighborhood has access to quality outdoor spaces.
