On November 22, the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco held the award ceremony for the Second "My Trip to China" Short Video Contest. Consul General Zhang Jianmin,his wife Zheng Xin and other consulate officials presented awards to the winners. Zhou Shuqi, President of the US-China Youth and Student Exchange Association in Washington state, and Huang Fan, Chair of the San Francisco-Shanghai Sister City Committee, attended the event. Nearly 300 teenagers and guests from various communities participated.
Consul General Zhang briefed the audience on the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Busan summit meeting between the two presidents. He emphasized that the future of China-US relation lies with the youth and encouraged American youth to personally experience and feel China's charm, and grasp the pulse of China's development. He also called on them to share their genuine observations with friends, and write a new chapter of China-US friendship through sincere communication.
Anthony Cheung, winner of the Grand Prize, shared his memorable experience visiting China and expressed hope and confidence in enhancing China-US friendship. American teenagers performed traditional Chinese arts, including guzheng music, face mask-changing, martial arts, tai chi, and dragon dance. Artists from the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association demonstrated intangible cultural heritage such as walnut carving and shadow play.
