The Ohio Association of Student Leaders recognized student and school leaders from across the state at the annual conference in Belpre, Ohio. Members of Port Clinton High School Leadership Council were recognized as OASL All-Ohio Outstanding Student Leaders and PCHS Principal, Gary Steyer was honored as Administrator of the Year at the 2026 State Conference.
PCHS seniors Halle Puffenberger, Kai Weit, and Morgan Wiechman were All-Ohio Outstanding Student Leaders. This award recognizes outstanding service and leadership in both school and community. According to the OASL website, "Student leaders are special people. They are givers who care about others. Within this group is a smaller group that goes beyond what is required. These are the students who stay that extra hour, who work harder, who say "thanks" more often, who lead by example, and are respected by their teachers and peers."
The OASL Administrator of the Year Award is the highest honor given by OASL to school administrators. It is given in honor of the extraordinary support and time the individual has given to their school's council and student leaders. Port Clinton High School Principal, Gary Steyer, was honored as the 2026 OASL Administrator of the Year.
Nichole Wiechman is the Port Clinton High School Leadership Council Advisor. Mrs. Weichman was honored at the 2025 Leadership Conference as OASL Advisor of the Year.
