City Of Las Vegas Ward 5 Student Traffic Safety Video Contest

K-12 Students To Create A Short Video To Enhance Driver And Pedestrian Safety

The city of Las Vegas proudly announces the Ward 5 Student Traffic Safety Video Contest for elementary-, middle- and high school students. From Monday, Feb. 2, through Friday, March 13, students who live in or attend school in Ward 5 are invited to create and submit an original video focused on traffic safety. Videos must be 30 seconds or less and align with the student's grade category:

  • Elementary School: Pedestrian Safety
  • Middle School: Bicycle and Scooter Safety
  • High School: General Traffic Safety

All submissions must be original content and should promote safe, responsible and thoughtful behavior on and around Las Vegas streets. Students must obtain parent or guardian consent to enter the contest and have their winning video featured online. One winner will be selected from each category - elementary, middle and high school. Winning entries will be honored during a special ceremony in the City Council Chambers.

Videos must only feature the submitting child (no other persons) and must not depict unsafe or illegal conduct. Videos should be submitted through the online City of Las Vegas Ward 5 Student Traffic Safety Video Contest Form and be in MP4, MOV or AVI format with a maximum size of 50 megabytes. Every participant will be honored and recognized by Ward 5.

Winners will be announced Tuesday, March 31. Selected students will have their voices featured on crosswalk recordings at Ward 5 intersections, amplifying youth voices in promoting street safety throughout the community. For questions or more information, email [email protected].
