On March 19th, 2026, at approximately 3:02 p.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call regarding a traffic crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle near the intersection of Circle Dr. and Fountain Blvd. Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was crossing on a scooter when they were struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The pedestrian later succumbed to their injuries while at the hospital.
Due to the circumstances of the crash, the CSPD Major Crash Team (MCT) responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation. Currently, speed and impairment are not suspected.
On April 8th, 2026, the El Paso County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy on the deceased individual and identified him as 34-year-old Allen Brewer.
No formal charges have been filed at this time, and this investigation remains open and ongoing.
This incident marks the 13th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2026. At this time last year, the city experienced six traffic fatalities. Over the past 365 days, there have been 59 traffic-related fatalities in Colorado Springs.
