TIF Support Proposed for Logan Square Brewery Expansion
Maplewood Brewing Co.'s planned acquisition and improvement of its Logan Square production facility would be supported by a $1.5 million Tax Increment Financing (TIF) loan proposed to City Council today by Mayor Brandon Johnson.
The brewery and distillery plans to invest $3.9 million to purchase the property at 2717 N. Maplewood Ave. and implement improvements to double its production capacity. The company has occupied the building since its founding in 2014.
The project, made possible by the low-interest, 10-year loan, would retain 35 positions and add five new full-time jobs.
The City funding would be provided from the Addison South TIF district.
