27 May - Inter-Parliamentary Meeting, Parliament, and Business
18th EU-Mongolia Inter-Parliamentary Meeting
The centrepiece of the visit was the 18th EU-Mongolia Inter-Parliamentary Meeting (IPM), held at the State Palace. Co-chaired by MP G.Temuulen, Chair of the Mongolia-European Parliament Friendship Group, and Ms. Princi, the meeting brought together a broad delegation of Mongolian MPs alongside the EU Delegation to Mongolia.
Both sides emphasised that despite a geographical distance of over 7,000 km, Mongolia and the EU are united by shared values of democracy, human rights, and freedom. MP G.Temuulen highlighted the EBRD's commitment of up to one billion euros to support Mongolia's green transition and stressed the need to diversify the economy away from mining dependency. MEP Thierry Mariani praised Mongolia's balanced and pragmatic foreign policy and called for increased non-financial investment - technology transfer and know-how from Europe to Mongolia. MP J.Bayarmaa proposed cooperation on cybersecurity, data protection, and combating disinformation on social media. MP E.Bolormaa briefed participants on trade statistics: EU-Mongolia trade totals one billion USD, with imports accounting for 91% and exports only 9%, underscoring the need to advance the Geographical Indications Agreement and expand use of the EU's Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP+). Both sides noted that the National Cardiovascular Centre, financed through an EBRD loan agreement, stands as a symbol of tangible EU-Mongolia cooperation.

29 May - Baganuur District and National University
On the fourth day, the delegation travelled to Baganuur District, accompanied by Ambassador Marciulionyte and Minister of Environment and Climate Change H.E. Mr Sandag-Ochir. The group visited Baganuur Electromechanical Plant LLC, a domestic manufacturer of power equipment serving Mongolia's energy, mining, and construction sectors - and met with Governor of Baganuur District S.Davaasuren.
The visit to Baganuur provided first-hand insight into Mongolia's industrial and energy infrastructure, as well as the environmental challenges associated with the district's coal-mining legacy, directly relevant to EU-Mongolia cooperation on green transition and UNCCD COP17. On return to Ulaanbaatar, the delegation met with faculty and students at the National University of Mongolia.
