Detroit ACE hosts ACE Broadway Nights with discounts for Detroiters to see “Back to the Future”

Great Scott! The City of Detroit's Office of Culture, Arts & Entrepreneurship (Detroit ACE) is taking Detroiters Back to the Future with an outta sight offer!

ACE is partnering with Broadway in Detroit to offer special discounts for THREE nights of performances of Back to the Future: The Musical, the beloved movie that was turned into a Broadway musical. Winner of the 2022 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, Back to the Future: The Musical was adapted for the stage by the film's creators Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis . It was directed by Tony Award®-winner John Rando with original music by multi-Grammy® winners Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard (Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror"). It features such hit songs as "The Power of Love," "Johnny B. Goode," "Earth Angel," and "Back in Time." The ACE team will be in the lobby on opening night for an hour before the show with activities for kids.

The musical tells the story of high-schooler Marty McFly, who gets transported back to 1955 in a time machine built by the eccentric scientist Doc Brown. He accidentally changes the course of history. Now he's in a race against time to fix the present, escape the past and send himself... back to the future.

Guests who purchase tickets using the code CITY can go back to 1955 for only $55 for Main Floor & Mezzanine tickets for October 28, 29, & 30th! Guests who come on Tuesday or Wednesday can take a photo on Madison Avenue next to the iconic "Back to the Future" Delorean! Tickets also are available for $45 for the Rear Mezzanine & Side Orchestra and $25 for the Balcony.

On Halloween, the night after ACE nights, the first 250 people who come to the show in costume will receive a commemorative Detroit Back To The Future poster!

The Fisher partnership is a part of ACE's efforts to encourage Detroiters to embrace the city's iconic venues and enjoy offerings not only at the Fisher and the Detroit Opera House, but also at the Detroit Institute of Arts, which just opened a landmark exhibit of African American art, Orchestra Hall, home to one of the world's greatest symphonies and the Music Hall Center For the Performing Arts, and the Detroit Repertory Theatre, which is celebrating its 68th anniversary this year.

"We have some of the best venues in America for music and performance," said Rochelle Riley, the city's Director of Arts and Culture. "I hope everyone will spend more family time at all of these treasures."

Detroit ACE partners with organizations across the region to enhance and grow investment in the fine and performing arts, culture and history with a special focus on artistic entrepreneurship and support for Detroit's creative workforce.
