STATEMENT: Ramaswamy Makes Light of Sexual Abuse - Again

DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy released the following statement on Vivek Ramaswamy attacking Dr. Amy Acton for being a survivor of childhood sexual abuse:

"Vivek Ramaswamy's comments attacking Dr. Acton for having overcome horrific abuse are absolutely disgusting, disgraceful, and an insult to survivors everywhere. Unfortunately, this is nothing new for Ramaswamy, who has yet to explain to Ohioans why he and his allies have taken over $100,000 from known associates of Jeffrey Epstein, or why he has conspicuously dropped his calls to release the Epstein files. Sexual abuse and assault are unacceptable, and Ramaswamy's disturbing willingness to make light of them is totally disqualifying."

Ramaswamy's comments are the latest instance in a disturbing trend of turning a blind eye to sexual abuse and predatory behavior, including:

  • His presidential super PAC refused to return a $100,000 contribution from known Epstein associate Glenn Dubin
  • He has quite literally run away from reporters rather than explain why he no longer believes the Epstein files should be released
  • He proudly campaigned alongside one politician currently under criminal investigation for climbing into bed with an underage female relative wearing only his underwear, and another who testified at length about talking to "young girls" about their sexual experiences
